This literature review was commissioned to provide an overview of the issues affecting the wellbeing of children who are homeless with their families, with a focus on the issues in Western Australia. It examines the national and international research on the causes and extent of children's homelessness, the pathways leading to family homelessness, the impact on children's wellbeing, service and support needs for at risk children and families, strategic approaches and systems, successful evidence-based interventions for children's wellbeing, children's own views and experiences of homelessness and support services, and the gaps in the research. It also provides summaries of the findings and recommendations of selected reports.
