This article highlights some of the issues facing homeless children and families. It presents findings from a thesis research project on the risk and protective factors for health and wellbeing among homeless families in Sydney, New South Wales, which involved focus groups 26 service providers and 37 homeless women with 85 accompanying children. The article discusses behavioural and mental health problems among children, negative impact on parent child relationship, poor physical health, barriers to accessing to health services, interrupted education, constant relocation, and impaired social attachments.
